FAQs
Q. How do I change the filter for a photo I’ve just taken?
A. You can’t directly. The filter settings only apply to future photos.
Q. Every time I take a photo, I get two photos in my photo album. Why?
A. You get two photos because one is the original photo, and the other is the one generated by Twitmo. I originally had a switch to turn this feature off, but it just seemed to confuse things generally in the interface. At least if you have the original, and if for some reason you don’t like what Twitmo’s done to your photo, you won’t lose that special moment!
Q. Why do you use Twitpic for photos?
A. Twitpic integrates well with Twitter, has a really simple developer API, and is really popular. Seemed like an easy choice to me.
Q. Twitmo seems pretty basic. Why don’t you add more Twitter features?
A. My idea behind the app was to provide a really simple, quick, and easy way to take a photo, make it look nice, and tweet it. I might consider more twitter functionality in the future, but to be honest there are lots of apps out there that do a lot better job on that side of things than I could.
Q. What are the image dimensions?
A. Large is 800×600, small is 400×300, and thumb is 200×150
Q. What file sizes are photos, and how long might they take to upload?
A. A large photo is typically anything up to about 500k, so it’s best to make sure you have wifi or 3G to upload that size otherwise you’ll have to wait 2 or more minutes. Small photos can still be as much as 250k, so on a slow connection could still take a minute or two. Thumb photos are much smaller, at about 100k, and are best suited for slow connections.
Q. Why don’t you have any larger filesizes?
A. Time to upload. I wanted to keep things simple and as quick to upload as reasonable, while keeping good overall image quality. I felt that anything more than 800×600 would take too long to upload in many circumstances.
